About the Event
TSLEIL-WAUTUTH NATION WELCOME
We are honoured to work with Cease Wyss, Tsleil-Waututh Nation member and Takaya Tour guide, to give these lucky summer campers an opportunity to learn about the Nation’s history through wonderful storytelling.
TOUR OF NOONS CREEK HATCHERY
The Noons Creek Hatchery is a favorite sanctuary within Port Moody’s beautiful Shoreline Park. We have partnered with the Port Moody Ecological Society to bring campers to the hatchery for a tour and a deeper look at natural systems.
TOUCH POOL ACTIVITY
The Salish Sea Research and Education Society will provide a touch-pool for campers to experience our intertidal neighbours up close and personal! Campers will also participate in games and educational activities throughout the camp!
OCEAN LAYERS AND OCEAN HEALTH ACTIVITIES
SSRES has several fun hands-on activities planned to demonstrate the complexity of the ocean ecosystem and to show the importance of keeping our oceans clean and healthy. We will conduct an ocean layers science experiment, complete an ocean biodiversity poster activity, and get our hands dirty in an interactive ocean pollution activity!
BOAT DAY!! EXPLORE CAMP JUBILEE
